How do bloggers define parameters for which brands they will work with – and what kind of work they will do? How closely must a brand align with our personal and professional values? How far outside our niche are we willing to go?
There is no easy or right answer, but it is important to set guidelines for your own blog and brand and have a clearly defined mission. Blogging with integrity and purpose will set you up for a stronger business – and better karma!
Join bloggers, brands, and blogger-brand-connectors for conversation about these evolving relationships. We’ll discuss how brands select bloggers, how bloggers select brands, and the wide variety of ways in which likeminded businesses can work together.
Topics we plan to cover include:
- When brands select bloggers, is it all about numbers? Or would they rather see thoughtful and selective content?
- How to be transparent with a sponsored post without sounding like you are just re-hashing spoon-fed marketing jargon
- How to include a mission statement in your media kit that reflects your personal blogging ideals
- As your principles evolve over time, what do you do about older posts written from a less-informed perspective?
- Do bloggers expect to be paid for product reviews? And are brands willing to pay? Where do we draw the line between an unbiased review and a paid ambassadorship?
