ShiftCon 2019 is right around the corner and we’re excited to welcome Alysia Reiner as our keynote speaker this year!
Alysia Reiner To Keynote ShiftCon 2019
If she looks familiar to you, she should. Reiner has played many well-known roles on popular shows. You may know as Natalie “Fig” Figueroa on the Netflix hit, Orange is the New Black, for which she won an ensemble SAG award and you can see her in all 6 binge-worthy seasons. Reiner recently joined the cast of HBO’s THE DEUCE for season 2 and returned for season 3 of FX’s critically acclaimed Peabody Award winning BETTER THINGS.

Her motherhood dark-comedic feature EGG, which she produced and stars in with Christina Hendricks and Anna Camp, premiered at TFF 2018, and comes to theatres and VOD Jan 18th. Additionally, Alysia produced and starred in EQUITY, bought/distributed by Sony Pictures Classics at Sundance 2016. Alysia loves working as a change maker for women, is an ambassador for the Geena Davis Institute for Gender Equality, a member of TIMES UP, recently received a MUSE “MADE IN NY” AWARD from The Mayor’s office and New York Women in Film and Television, and is passionately committed to protecting the environment as one of the founders of Livari, a zero-waste women’s clothing line (see livariclothing.com!)
Turning Your Art Into Activism
Reiner is an accomplished artist. But she’s more than that–she’s an activist. Because she’s made a name for herself as an artist, she’s able to amplify her voice as an activist and that’s just what she’s talking about at the 2019 ShiftCon keynote.
