At Healthy Child Healthy World we often say that although children are only 24% of the population, they are 100% of the future.
According to the CDC, today’s children are the first generation expected to live shorter lives than their parents.
In the last 20 years, more than 80,000 chemicals have been registered for use in the US, but none have been tested for children’s safety. Children are now born with 200+ chemicals in their body.
In this same time frame, there has been a 400% increase in food allergies and ADHD, a 300% increase in asthma, and 1,800% increase in autism. Pediatric cancer is now the #1 killer of children, despite an increase in survival rate.
This is no coincidence. Increasingly science is linking the presence and prevalence of chemicals in our environment and food to the increase of these diseases and conditions.
The Healthy Child Healthy World panel will address common chemicals and environmental toxins found in our food system, everyday products, and our homes. The panel will discuss how to look for these chemicals, how to avoid them, and will offer easy tips on how to make changes in our lives to minimize exposure for our families and ourselves.
