We are very excited to welcome Molly’s Suds back as an Expo Sponsor for ShiftCon 2015!
If you’re not familiar with Molly’s Suds, they make laundry and pet products that are safe for humans and animals. After losing her daughter to a stillbirth, Pediatric Nurse and Mother, Monica Leonard wanted to try and figure out what caused this to happen. She began to read everything she could about stillbirths and uncovered a disturbing fact. In the United States alone 80,000 chemicals were approved for use by the TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) and yet only 200 of the toxins were tested for human safety.
A European study found that mothers pass chemicals to their babies via pregnancy and breast milk. Newborn baby cord blood and amniotic fluid had multiple non-natural toxins detected in it – as many as 240 chemicals in cord blood have been found! More than 120 of the chemicals were from toxins in food, personal care, household and environmental products. That information prompted Monica to hang up her nursing uniform and help spread the word about toxins while creating safe products for her family and families everywhere.
We love Monica’s passion for educating others on toxins in the home, and her dedication to making a difference in the world. We also believe that removing toxins from homes is very important, and we support Molly’s Suds in any way we can.
