Dr. Silvia Abel-Caines  Ph.D (Ruminant Nutritionist) 

A native of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Silvia graduated from UNPHU University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. In 1990 she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to continue her education in Ruminant Nutrition. She obtained her Master’s degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville included research in neonatal immunity and colostrum supplementation in dairy calves. She also completed a PhD at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln where she focused on improving the fatty acid profile of milk through nutrition. She is a certified grazing planner, and aims to provide “sound animal health and nutrition advice with a sustainable approach.
