ShiftCon Board Member, Kat Schuett-Reue, is the director of ShiftCon’s first Climate Influencer Summit and an internationally-published, award-winning health and sustainability journalist, as well as the founder of The Better World Hub (BWH). The goal of the BWH is to build a community of conscious citizens, passionate community leaders and influencers, world-changing non-profit organizations & mission-driven businesses — so that together we can create a better world!
ShiftCon shares this goal and as a ShiftCon Board Member, Kat’s mission is to help connect our passionate community of influencers with world-changing organizations, brands and leaders who have inspiring stories. Powerful stories, that when shared with our community’s millions of followers, can drive real change.
Kat has been a contributing editor and writer for numerous publications including Better Homes and Gardens, the third largest magazine in the nation with over 35 million readers. Her work has also been published in Ladies Home Journal, National Geographic’s Green Guide, Real Food, Green Traveler Guides, Sustainable Food News, Diabetic Living, The Knot and Common Ground.
Kat has also served as a U.S. correspondent for Organic and Wellness News and was the former editorial director of Organic Processing Magazine, an international publication read by tens of thousands of change leaders throughout the world from NGOs and CEOs to farmers, politicians and consumers. In her career, Kat has won numerous awards for journalism including national honors such as the prestigious William Randolph Hearst Award for Excellence in Journalism. But, the greatest reward in life is being a mommy to her 2-year-old and 4-year-old — and knowing that despite not having time to shower or even brush her unwashed hair, that somehow the work she is doing will help create a better future for them and everyone else who shares this planet.
