We are so excited to welcome back Stonyfield as a hospitality suite sponsor for ShiftCon 2016!
Co-founders Samuel Kaymen and Gary Hirshberg had one mission in mind over 30 years ago when they partnered up to run a nonprofit organic farming school on a small New Hampshire farm. In a country where factory farming was becoming increasingly popular, they were on a mission to help family farms survive, keep food and food production healthy, and help protect the environment.
The school needed funding badly, so with their seven cows, they got to work and began making organic yogurt in small batches and selling it. From milking the cows to making the yogurt, to delivering it to customers, Samuel and Gary did everything themselves. The yogurt was a huge hit. Soon Samuel and Gary realized that running a successful organic yogurt company could make a much bigger difference for family farms and the environment than their school could.
More than 30 years later, Stonyfield has evolved from small batches of handmade yogurt made from the milk of seven cows to a line of organic yogurts, smoothies, soy yogurts, frozen yogurts, milk, and cream that is sold all across the country. Stonyfield’s organic ingredient purchases now support a huge network of food producers made up of hundreds of organic family farms, thousands of organic cows, and over 200,000 organic acres.
The folks at Stonyfield have never stopped working for healthy food, healthy people and a healthy planet. And that is why their values align with ShiftCon so well. We are so happy to have them hosting a hospitality suite where attendees will be able to chat with representatives of the company as well as try some of their delicious products.
