We are thrilled to welcome another amazing sponsor back to ShiftCon for the 2015 conference! Nature’s Path will be generously supplying their delicious cereals and granolas for all attendees to enjoy for breakfast throughout the conference.
Nature’s Path was founded in 1985 by Arran Stephens, but the seed of the company was planted more than 80 years ago, by his father, Rupert Stephens. Rupert inherited the 89-acre Mountain Valley Farm, and developed a few creative techniques to yield rich crops of berries and vegetables in unique but sustainable ways. Uninterested in modern chemicals and mechanization, he pioneered simple, economical methods to strengthen soil fertility and produce healthy plants.
Arran Stephens grew up on that unconventional farm and because of his father’s message to “always leave the soil better than you found it,” he came away with a lifelong love of soil and nature. His fondest memories are of helping his parents gather and spread kelp on the fields, planting corn with his father and wandering through the farm eating sun-ripened berries.
After following his own path that led him from the farm to India, Arran ultimately became one of the pioneers of the organic food movement. With the help of his wife Ratana, Arran took Nature’s Path from operating out of the back of their restaurant, to becoming North America’s largest organic breakfast foods company. Nature’s Path remains a fiercely independent company, owned and operated by the family that started it.
Nature’s Path has such a strong back story, and we are so proud to have them as part of the ShiftCon family. As they did last year, they will be providing the cereal and granola portion of the conference breakfasts. They will also be in the expo, where you’ll be able to learn more about their company and the amazing products they produce.
You can stay updated on what’s happening with Nature’s Path by following them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. You can also find out more about their story and organic farming in general on the Nature’s Path blog. And don’t miss their delicious breakfast offerings featured at ShiftCon 2015!
