We are excited to announce our media partnership for ShiftCon 2014 with Women’s Voices For The Earth (WVE), a women’s organization dedicated to eliminating harmful toxins in our communities.
About Women’s Voices for The Earth:
Women’s Voices for the Earth amplifies women’s voices to eliminate the toxic chemicals that harm our health and communities. WVE envisions a world where women lead to create a healthy environment without toxic chemicals in our workplaces, homes, and communities. We develop resources to help women reduce their exposure to toxic chemicals, and mobilize women to call on companies to change corporate practices and on legislators to pass policies that actually protect us from toxic chemicals
Women’s Voices for the Earth has a mission to amplify women’s voices in the fight to eliminate the toxic chemicals that harm our health and communities. They believe in justice, fairness, equity, alliance-building, and engagement. It was founded in 1995 by a group of women who sought to create a new environmental organization led by women that recognized the systemic connections between health, class, race, and the environment.
Both WVE and Shiftcon believe that women are a driving force for change. We want to provide women with the tools and support they need to get their voices heard. Together, women everywhere can pull together and make a change in this world. That is why we are thrilled to partner with an organization that is committed to standing up for women everywhere who are fighting for the health of our family, friends, and the Earth as a whole.
