Our next sponsor is something that hits very close to home for many of us moms! We are happy to bring Naturepedic on board with ShiftCon 2014.
How many hours do your children spend in bed? At least eight hours a night? Seven nights a week? 52 weeks a year? Plus naps! That’s almost 3,000 hours each year of breathing in the toxic chemicals are coming out of those mattresses. We think so long and hard about the food we feed them and the products we use on and around them, but what about that bed they sleep in?
Naturepedic was founded by Barry A Cik, a 25 year veteran in the field of environmental engineering. Barry went searching for a suitable baby crib mattress when his first grandchild was on the way. Knowing all about vinyl/PVC, polyurethane foam, and the various chemicals contained in them, he knew there was no way he would put his grandchild to sleep within a just few inches of these chemicals. He was in shock at the sad state of the mattress industry and even the organic mattresses he found were just not suitable for infants with their lack of waterproofing. Together with his two sons, Barry set out to found Naturepedic, an organic and non-toxic baby crib mattress company dedicated to providing parents with a better alternative – the first and only waterproof organic baby crib mattress designed with a safe food-grade polyethylene cover, and which also eliminates the potentially harmful chemicals conventional mattresses are prone to having.
Naturepedic also offers children and adult mattresses in addition to their crib mattress line. We are so excited to spread the word about Naturepedic at ShiftCon 2014 and hope you are too. For more information about the Naturepedic line, please check them out on Facebook and Twitter, or visit their website.
