We are proud to announce our media partnership for ShiftCon 2014 with Lead Safe America, an organization committed to educating and helping families who are victims of lead poisoning.
About Lead Safe America:
LSAF was founded to help alleviate the challenges faced by so many parents of lead-poisoned children. We offer emergency intervention and support to families whose children have been diagnosed as positive for lead in their blood. We engage in outreach and education for the primary prevention of early childhood lead poisoning. And finally – and perhaps most important – we provide support to parent-advocates so the web of information has a framework that can spread across the country with parents getting the information and resources they need and then turning around to – in turn- help other parents in the same situation.
The mission of Lead Safe America is to protect children from hazards created by lead (Pb) found in their homes, schools, childcare centers, playgrounds, parks, and environment. They employ programs that help parents whose children have been victims of lead poisoning, aid in prevention, and encourage those who want to speak and spread the word about this important issue. Founder, Tamara Rubin is also the power behind Mislead: America’s Secret Epidemic, a feature length documentary film about childhood lead poisoning in America.
Lead Safe America and ShiftCon believe that we need to protect our children from dangers both seen and hidden. We want to work to bring awareness to this often overlooked issue with childhood health.
